Grewelthorpe Church of England Primary School

Curriculum

The Curriculum is broad and balanced, covering all National Curriculum requirements. It is largely planned around themes although some work, e.g. Literacy and Numeracy, may be organized as separate subjects. Sometimes the themes planned will have a predominantly scientific theme; at other times history or geography will be the major area being studied.

Over the whole academic year a balance is achieved. All our approaches are structured for abilities from pre-school to early Secondary. Each child will be taught at and beyond their own ability level within the prepared theme and our aim is for each child to achieve a high standard.
